Volunteering with the BMR
At BMR we run a programme of events and volunteer opportunities which range from Coastal Clean-ups, Intertidal Marine Monitoring, Shorewatch, talks from guest speakers, various training opportunities, and much more!

We are delighted to have received 2 years of funding from The National Lottery for our Community Led Environmental Action for the Berwickshire Coast project. This funding will help develop our volunteer programme and assist us in increasing engagement with not only local communities, but also tourists and visitors to the Reserve.

We are always looking for new volunteers to help with our ongoing work and behind-the-scenes activities. If you are interested in volunteering, please click on the box below to complete a short application form. Once received and reviewed, a member of staff will be in touch to confirm your successful application.
Our Coastal Champions
The BMR is lucky to have an amazing group of regular volunteers who usually meet every Wednesday for our various events and activities. Without their time and effort, a lot of what the BMR does, would simply not be possible.

Not only do our volunteers play a massive part in the work we do, local businesses, schools, and organisations continually show their support at events such as coastal clean-ups.

We would like to highlight the incredible work of our volunteers, local businesses, local schools, and members of the community and announce them as our ‘Coastal Champions’. Whether they have helped with our various projects, such as Beachwatch, Shorewatch, or Intertidal Marine Monitoring, to mention a few, their commitment to helping to preserve and conserve the Berwickshire Marine Reserve and the wider Berwickshire Coast has, without a doubt, been amazing to witness.
