Under Pressure: Connecting Coastal Communities

This year-long project aims to address concerns raised by the local community through previous consultations. We aim to do this through 3 main channels:

  • Community volunteers

  • Community education

  • Addressing community concerns

Community Volunteers: Continue to increase the number and diversity of our volunteer network. Ensure their continued well-being and connection to their environment, and contribution to the community. Skilling up communities so they can drive and own their own volunteer activities.

Community Education: Create modern and updated Codes of Conduct which are available to all of the community through enhanced media offerings, available online as well as physical information at key coastal sites. We aspire to have a permanent education centre which is open all year round, providing us with a facility for the community to come together to learn and be inspired.

Addressing Community Concerns: Putting into action a plan of impactful activities which enable our volunteers and community to address these issues locally and make a positive impact on their local environment
