Scotland's First Snorkel Festival

Celebrating Scotland's Seas

Join us from 27th to the 29th June for Scotland's first Snorkel Festival. We are working with Scottish Wildlife Trust to launch our refreshed Snorkel Trail and to celebrate all things snorkelling! We aim to snorkel all 6 Snorkel Trail sites over Saturday and Sunday, and are hoping snorkellers across Scotland will snorkel trails near them over the weekend.

We will be hosting talks from experts, introductory sessions to snorkelling, and a photography competition over the weekend. For our full programme of events and activities, and details of our photography compeition, please see below.

Photography Competition

There are 2 categories to enter:

  • Scottish Snorkel Trails - Photos taken at any of the Scottish Wildlife Trust's snorkel trail sites across Scotland will be considered.

Grand prize of...

A fun-filled trip to Orkney which includes donations of Pentland Ferry return travel, accommodation at Garrison Hall Apartments, Seafari onboard the Pomona Prefect, Boloquoy Victorian Farmhouse tour and afternoon tea, Orkney Distillery gin or whisky tasting tour, wildlife sculpture making at Harray Potter.

  • Berwickshire Snorkel Trails - Photos taken at any of Berwickshirre's 6 snorkel trail sites will be considered.

​Prizes include...​

A snorkel set from Saltwater Life, Orca pendant from Aurora Jewllery, and a signed copy of 'Snorkelling Britain' from Snorkelology.

​Terms and Conditions - 

  • All submissions must be taken either at a Berwickshire Snorkel Trail site or a Scotland-wide snorkel trail site over the weekend of the Snorkel Festival.

  • All submissions must be taken when snorkelling. No diving photography will be accepted.

  • Please include details of location and date upon submission.

  • Winners will be notified after the Snorkel Festival is finished.

  • All entries to be received by 9pm on Sunday 29th June 2025.

  • All entries maintain the full copyright of their images at all times and agree to Snorkel Festival partners using their images for promotional and educational purposes. Images used will be fully credited.

Introduction to Sea Snorkelling with Blue Adventures

10am

Blue Adventures, 26a High Street, Eyemouth

These introduction to snorkelling sessions are based at either Eyemouth or Coldingham beach will be led by one of our experienced BSAC snorkel instructors who will safely guide you around the snorkel site, teach snorkelling skills and show you the amazing underwater marine life in the clear waters of the Berwickshire Marine Reserve.

Kids Introduction to Snorkelling with Blue Adventures

1pm

Eyemouth Leisure Centre

These introduction to snorkelling sessions a perfect opportunity for children from 8yrs and above t give snorkelling a try. Learn new skills under the guidance of experienced qualified BSAC snorkel instructors in the pool.

Guided Snorkelling with Snorkel Wild

Coldingham Bay Car Park

​Explore the incredible underwater world and some different habitats, right off the beach. Floating on the surface we can look down to observe interesting marine life in their natural environments. Learn how to identify and seek out different marine life, as well as learn about the local conditions and tides.
